I can't say enough fabulous things about the group that puts together the Audubon Arts event for our students. It is just awesome, and the kids remain excited about it year after year. This year was a fantasy theme. We started by making self-portraits and heat pressing them to t-shirts. From there we went to enjoy story time by the very famous Mary Jo Huff. She is so animated. We even got our own set of peepers to take with us. Our cafeteria staff packed us a very tasty sack lunch that we enjoyed on the lawn. There was face painting and balloon animals, too. We wrapped our day up with getting our hands dirty on the clay wheel and jammin' out to some music on the lawn. Check out some pics from our fun day!

CBI Trip - Midwest America and Lunch
Last Thursday, we went on a CBI trip to Midwest America. It was so cool to see all the planes they have stored there. We learned lots of fascinating information, including that they have sound that goes off ever so often to scare the birds away. Huh? Didn't you always wonder how they keep the planes clean of bird droppings? After our trip to see the planes, we went out to lunch to Cracker Barrel. Yummy!!!
Pre-Game Party Fun
If you missed the pregame party we had a couple of weeks ago, then you missed a good time. We started the evening listening to music and making game night posters with some awesome peer tutors. From there we chowed down on pizza, chips, and cookies. Before heading over to the game, we had quite the karaoke show. The whole room was dancing and singing before it was over. It was so nice to have fun and relax after school. Check out a few fun pics from the night!
This is my Frozen Princess. She loved hanging out at Mommy's school for the night.

I am honored to be working here at Apollo High School with such pleasant students and helpful staff. AHS is an exciting and structured environment that I am blessed to be in everyday! I am 23 years old and a Native of Owensboro. I attended Owensboro High school, class of '09, and am a devil at heart but I flaunt the fact that I am now an Eagle. As a coach of the Track and Field team I have much school spirit and pride in Apollo. This is my second year here at AHS so I'm sure I can answer many questions; If you ever need anything I am a email away!

Fashion Disaster Tuesday
This week is Spirit Week at Apollo High School. We are showing our school spirit by dressing up for every school day this week. Friday is our big rival football game against Daviess County High School. Today's theme is FASHION DISASTER. In the picture above, you see Mrs. Duke and Trevore sporting their fashion disaster clothes. We can't wait to see everyone's Christmas in September attire tomorrow.
