Holiday World

We were certainly blessed with a beautiful day for Holiday World in a month full of rain.  This is one of my favorite days.  I hope everyone had an amazing time!

DisABILITY Awareness Week

disABILITY awareness week at Apollo High School was aMaZiNg!  I appreciate all of the parents, staff, and students that supported our mission to focus on the ABILITIES of all people!  We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our shirts so we can continue to spread the word.  I posted some pics from my class and our ENL videos below. :)

Ironing

Ironing is such an important skill, especially to follow up last weeks Wacky Wednesday lesson "Dress for Success".  However, ironing is not easy.  Yesterday, Mrs. Higdon went over the ins and outs of ironing and keeping ourselves looking clean and crisp!

YMCA and Texas Roadhouse

We love our monthly CBI trips where we have the opportunity to explore places we would like to work, play, and eat.  The YMCA and Texas Roadhouse did not disappoint.  

Perishable And Nonperishable Foods

Today we learned about perishable and Nonperishable foods. We took a look at several items in our kitchen. We paid close attention to detail in regards to expiration dates, the need for refrigeration, and how long you have to use something after opening it. I encourage you to get your student use to looking for expiration dates on your food and drink items at home. 

Valentine Party

We had such a great time at our Valentine Celebration.  Thank you to all the parents who sent in goodies to help us celebrate.

SkyZone

We loved our trip to Sky Zone and Cici's Pizza.  Did you know that Sky Zone also offers exercise classes.  This gave us the opportunity to explore if a trampoline park is somewhere we would like to visit for leisure activities.  After we bounced, we also got to check out Cici's Pizza. Not only is it an affordable place to eat, but a lot of students said they would like to work at a pizza place someday, too.
